Interlibrary Loan (ILL): a mediated process that provides students, faculty and staff with materials not owned by the Drew Library, but available from other Libraries.
Interlibrary loan services are open to currently enrolled students, faculty and staff of Drew University.
Eligible patrons may request physical items such as books, A/V materials, and microfilm, as well as electronic delivery of items such as journal articles and book chapters.
Fulfillment of all requests is subject to the availability of resources at the libraries from whom we request.
There is no limit on the number of requests that patrons can place, but we ask patrons to be mindful of the processing time needed for a large volume.
All physical ILL items may be picked up at, and returned to, the circulation desk.
ILL services are provided to Drew patrons free of charge.
Drew will provide electronic delivery of chapters or journal articles available in Drew’s collections, up to a maximum of 3 chapters or sections per book. We reserve the right to limit the scanning of multiple sections if they are prohibitively long or constitute a significant portion of the whole work. Patrons on campus are encouraged to retrieve and scan items themselves, as this is the quickest way to access the material. If a patron requests a loan of a book readily available at Drew, library staff may elect to retrieve the item and place on hold for the patron, or cancel the request and provide instructions for the patron to retrieve the item from the stacks themselves.
Drew loans the following item types from our circulating collections:
