Timeline

1914: William Wade Harris arrived in Cote d'Ivoire from Liberia.

1923: Harris went to neighboring countries and William Platt arrived and built on his predecessor's work.

1924: The Methodist Church was established in Cote d'Ivoire.

1937-1945: Andre' Roux, a minister of the Eglise Reforme de France, served the Methodist Missionary Society in Ivory Coast.

1998: Benjamin Boni became the president of the church.

2004: The United Methodist Church accepted the Methodist Protestant Church of Côte d’Ivoire  as a provisional annual conference.

2005: Benjamin Boni became the bishop.

2008: The United Methodist Church confirmed Côte d’Ivoire as an episcopal denomination area.
