Where do I register?

Do I have to be on campus to activate my pass?

No, you can activate a pass from on or off campus.

Do I use my Drew email address?

Yes, use your Drew email address to create an account.

What if I don't see my activation email from NYT in my inbox?

Check your spam folder. If you still can't find it, send an e-mail from your school e-mail address to edu@nytimes.com with subject line: “Academic Pass - no verification e-mail.”

I am still receiving a message about reaching the limit of free articles.

1.Your pass may have expired.  Visit accessnyt.com and select “log in here.” Then use the same log in as used for old NYTimes.com account. To reset password, go to NYTimes.com/forgot. Check your email for the activation link

2. You may not have checked your email for the activation link.  Please check your email and spam folder, and click on the link.   Still getting that message?  Try re-registering at nytimes.com/passes with your email address  and password, and you will be sent an new email activation link. 

How long does my academic pass last?

STUDENTS: Once you have activated your academic pass, it should allow you full access for 4 years,  with no further action on your part, depending on what graduation year you entered.  After that, just login again at accessnyt.com with the same credentials you used to register. 

FACULTY:  Once you have activated your academic pass, it should allow you full access for 4 years.  After that, just login again at accessnyt.com with the same credentials you used to register. 

I already have a NYT digital account? What do I do?

At the initial registration page, look for: Already have an account? Log in here. You cannot get a refund for an existing paid account, but you can cancel your account and not pay beyond any time period already paid for.

How can I renew an expired pass? 

To renew an expired pass, visit accessnyt.com and select “log in here.” Then use the same log in as used for old NYTimes.com account. To reset password, go to NYTimes.com/forgot

What content can I access?

The license gives Drew  users access to nearly all New York Times online content. The only specific content that is not accessible is the crossword puzzle.

Additionally, access to archived articles within the date range 1923-1980 is limited. Please use New York Times Historical for full historical access.

How do I get to the archives?

Can I access the magazine? 

  • Yes, the magazine can be accessed through the dropdown on the upper left corner of the screen. 

Set a Calendar Reminder to renew your academic pass

Setting a calendar reminder to renew your academic pass ensures uninterrupted access to your NY Times.com subscription: 

  • Go to accessnyt.com
  • Log in with your Drew email address and the password you created. 
  • You will see this screen with the expiration date of your pass:

  • Click on "Set a Calendar Reminder to Renew" 
  • Save the reminder that is created on your calendar:
