Sometimes referred to as References or a Works Cited page, a bibliography is a list of sources that were used to research a topic. An annotation is a summary or evaluation. So, when we combine the two, we get an annotated bibliography!
Your annotations should offer insight as to why you chose to include that source, as well as a summary of what the source is about. Why is this source useful? How does it fit into the rest of your research?
You may find it beneficial to browse theses and dissertations. They often include acknowledgement sections similar to the one you are to include with your annotated bibliography.
Indexes dissertations from 1861 forward; provides citations and abstracts for master’s theses from 1988 on. Full text of recent dissertations in humanities and social sciences.
