Library Resources - 2022-2023

PRINTING  

At the present time, several printers have been set up on the main floor of the Library for student use. We strongly encourage you to allow plenty of time (i.e. not right before class) to print any materials you may need.  This page will be updated with additional information about print services as it becomes available. Please contact University Technology if questions or concerns.

 

SCANNING

A scanning station for student use is available in the Academic Commons/Library during the 2022-23 academic year.  For distance students, some limited scanning of materials by Library staff may be available. Please go HERE for more information about submitting scanning requests-- see section under "personal use/research." If needed, Drew affiliates may submit scanning requests HERE.

Library Computers

A limited number of computer work stations will be available for student use in the Academic Commons area of the library during the academic year 2022-23.  Thanks for your part in keeping campus safe and open.

Group Study Spaces

Group study spaces are available in the Academic Commons area of the library during the 2022-23 academic year. Students may request/reserve Group Study space at the Circulation Desk. The Library conforms to campus and CDC/NJ State guidelines, meaning masks are optional at this time.  Thanks for your part in keeping campus safe and open.

INTERLIBRARY LOAN

Please view the video below (3:39) for helpful information about requesting an item through interlibrary loan (ILL). Of note: at 2:52 in the video,  requesting an ILL through Drew's Scholarsearch database is demonstrated.

HELPDESK AND SERVICE CENTER

In-person assistance is available by appointment only, Monday- Friday between 9AM-5PM. Masks and social distancing are up to the individual. Onine assistance is available via Zoom or help ticket. The Help Desk is located just beyond the Circulation counter in the Academic Commons, main floor of the Rose Memorial Library. Please go HERE for more information.

LIBRARY CARRELS

There are many public study carrels and tables throughout the Library.  The Library also offers a limited number of day carrels to any Drew student for private study; day carrels can be checked out at the Circulation/Reserve counter.  Assigned carrels and lockers are  allotted to qualifying students and faculty engaged in extensive Library-based research. Applications are available at the Circulation Counter.  Refer to Eligibility Guidelines for Carrels, Lockers and Group Study and to Policies and Procedures for Study Carrels and Lockers for more information.

DOCTORAL STUDY LOUNGE

The Doctoral Study Lounge is located off the Pilling Room on Level E. Access is by swipe (ID) card. The Lounge is open for doctoral students only. Here's a Drew Today article about the opening of the Lounge.

UNITED METHODIST ARCHIVES & HISTORY CENTER:

The United Methodist Archives Center is a collaboration between the Methodist Library of Drew University and the General Commission on Archives and History for the United Methodist Church (GCAH). The Methodist Library holds print materials related to United Methodism and related denominations, including over 50,000 books. For more information, click HERE.

Note: due to changing COVID conditions, access to the Reading Room may be limited. Please email methodist@drew.edu for information about access to materials. 

CENTER FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

The Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) is a one-stop resource to help you reach your fullest potential. With units dedicated to helping you with writing, math and science, the Center provides tutoring for most courses and makes every effort to arrange for tutoring in other courses through special requests. Academic coaching is also available to assist students who seek to improve their study and self-management skills. During the 2022-2023 academic year, all of these great services are offered both in person and online.
