Finding Books

The two major sources for books are:

  • The Drew Catalog, which lists the books Drew owns or has access to. Begin with Keyword Search.
  • WorldCat, which consolidates the catalogs of 10,000 libraries - useful for finding sources Drew does not own. Use Advanced Search.

Searching:

When you need books on a specific topic, start with keywords that describe your topic:

Then check the assigned Subjects of relevant works for the exact phrases that you might use:

Re-do your search, limiting the terms to Subject:

This will result in a more focused search than a simply keyword search, but the results will - we hope! - be more relevant.

In the Drew Catalog, go to Advanced Search:

Then, enter the title or author, and click "Left to right":

In WorldCat, search Advanced, and enter the title:

If Drew does not own the book, request it through Interlibrary Loan.
